Governor Kevin Stitt announced Monday that the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and the Oklahoma Department of Transportation have begun cleanups of state property across Oklahoma City as part of Operation SAFE.
Operation SAFE began in Tulsa and is the state's initiative to restore safety and cleanliness to public property. This is done by removing homeless encampments, trash, and debris from state-owned property.
OHP has the authority to clear out state-owned property, including underpasses, highways, state buildings and other land controlled by the state.
