Microsoft won't touch the Trump Halo memes even as government doubles down

The White House shook the world in late October, when it bizarrely shared an image of President Trump saluting the flag while cosplaying as Halo's Master Chief. Video games and the government don't mix all that much. A tacit nod from Trump would be a big deal in any context, but it's an especially notable one when Microsoft is trying to convince the world it needs yet another remake of a classic no one was asking for. But if leadership at Microsoft is feeling any sort of way about this strange turn of events, you're not going to hear it from them. Despite receiving inquiries from multiple major outlets and independent journalists, Polygon included, Microsoft is currently declining to comment on the Trump situation.
