FRANKFORT, Ky. — A new Kentucky law goes into effect this month putting new restrictions on Kentucky hunters and anglers.

The new measures are meant to help protect Kentucky’s fish and wildlife resources, officials said.

According to the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife, a state committee approved a new administrative regulation on Oct. 16 which makes it unlawful to use aircraft or unmanned aircraft when taking fish or wildlife.

“This regulation will provide guidance regarding the use of aircraft, including drones, while hunting, fishing or participating in other outdoor activities,” Maj. David Marques, with Fish and Wildlife’s Law Enforcement Division, said.
