PERRY CO., Ky. (WYMT) - The Perry County Sheriff’s Office is working to help the community this holiday season.

They are hosting “Operation Harvest Hope.” Until Nov. 21, The Perry County Sheriff’s Office is collecting non-perishable food items and even grocery store gift cards.

Sheriff Joe Engle said it is to help families in need before the holidays.

“We live in the richest country in the world,” Engle said. “We’re blessed and a lot of us is blessed more than we deserve. Those that’s got extra should to give to help those that don’t have enough.”

Michael Halligan with God’s Pantry Food Bank said the holiday season can be a time where folks are in a lot of need.
