Government issues £150 Warm Home Discount update as thousands of families told to act

The government has issued a reminder to thousands of households across the country as it begins sending out confirmation letters to those set to receive £150 off their energy bills this winter.

Around six million families will get a £150 discount off their energy bill this year - with the vast majority of them receiving the discount automatically.

However, more than 250,000 households across the country will get a letter this week confirming that they will get the discount.

It comes after the Prime Minister expanded the Warm Home Discount to an extra 2.7 million households this winter, meaning six million households now receive the help .
