The Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah, has approved the advance release of Rs 20 crore as the second instalment of the Central share of the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) to Nagaland for the financial year 2025-26.

The fund is aimed at providing immediate relief assistance to people affected by extremely heavy rainfall and flash floods, landslides during the south-west monsoon of this year, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs informed in a statement.

It further maintained that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the guidance of Amit Shah, the Government of India “stands shoulder to shoulder” with State Governments during natural calamities, providing all necessary assistance for relief and recovery.
