Proposals for a car wash in Coulby Newham have been thrown out for the second time in the space of eight months. Had plans been approved, a handful of jobs would have been created in the process of the car washing facility coming to fruition in the Parkway Shopping Centre car park.

Papers were originally registered by Middlesbrough Council in December 2024, only to have a bucket of cold water chucked over them earlier this yea r, in February. A second attempt at gaining planning permission was registered in July and has now received refusal from planning officers at the local authority yet again.
