On Monday, a little more than a week before the Tuesday, Nov. 4, election, both Detroit mayoral candidates appeared on Fox 2, offering up grand visions for the city.

Council President Mary Sheffield told Roop Raj, host of “The Pulse,” that she believes Detroit can be “the safest big city in America,” according to a report in The Detroit News by Louis Aguilar. While crime statistics are down, the city remains one of the most violent in the U.S. per capita.

Kinloch told Raj he has a plan that would enable 38,000 small businesses in the city to hire more workers.
