Police will take no further action after a Tory MSP called for “no more Buddhists” at Rangers following the sacking of Russell Martin.
Murdo Fraser, a supporter of the Ibrox club, celebrated Martin’s departure on X in a series of posts earlier this month.
The MSP for mid-Scotland and Fife made the comments, appearing to reference Martin, who is a vegan and had previously told The Guardian in 2018 that he supported the Green Party.
It read: “No more vegans, Buddhists or Green Party members please @RangersFC.”
The comments were criticised by some on social media as discriminatory and demonstrating “religious intolerance”.
At the time, a Green Party spokesperson accused Fraser of sending an “irresponsible message”.
