Police have arrested a man suspected of slashing tires in North Vancouver over the weekend.

The North Vancouver RCMP says it received 16 reports of slashed tires in the Lynn Valley neighbourhood between Oct. 25 and 26.

Mounties say most of the vehicles were parked along Kirkstone Road, Viewlynn Drive, Lynn Valley Road, and Mountain Highway, and most incidents likely occurred in the daytime.

“In most instances, the tires appeared to have been slashed or punctured by a sharp object,” police described, adding that there may still be unreported cases.

Investigators identified a suspect through CCTV footage and arrested one man Monday afternoon.

“He is currently held in custody pending the outcome of the investigation.”

Mounties say a dedicated team is actively reviewing the evidence.
