Drivers on the M25 are facing long delays due to reports of a person on the road.
Traffic was temporarily held at the Dartford Crossing on the A282, between Junction 1a and Junction 31, this afternoon.
At around 5.30pm, National Highways said the road was shut “due to an incident involving a member of the public who is walking around and crossing between both sides”.
Traffic has since been released in both directions, however “severe” delays remain on the approach to the crossing.
Police were called to the scene and there is a one-hour delay in both directions, with queues also reported in Dartford, Stone and Greenhithe and in both directions on the A2.
On the anti-clockwise side, there is congestion to Junction 4 for Orpington.
