Texas' Arch Manning opens week with DNP

Texas quarterback Arch Manning was entered into the concussion protocol and did not practice Monday ahead of the No. 20 Longhorns' game against No. 9 Vanderbilt.

The former five-star passer was injured during Texas' 45-38 overtime win over Mississippi State on Saturday. Longhorns backup Matthew Caldwell came off the bench to throw the winning touchdown pass against the Bulldogs. He could be relied on once again, if can't play against Commodores.

Caldwell's interesting college career takes another turn. This is his four school after being at Troy, Gardner-Webb, and Jacksonville State before Texas. He went 3-2 as a starter at Troy last season with 13 touchdown passes.
