A man has been charged with the racially aggravated rape of a woman in Walsall.

John Ashby, 32, is accused of raping a woman, aged in her 20s, in the Park Hall area of the town on Saturday, October 25.

Ashby, from Stockland Green, was charged with sexual assault, strangulation, racially-aggravated actual bodily harm and robbery.

He is due to appear at Birmingham Magistrates' Court tomorrow, October 29, for his first hearing.
