SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — A new art exhibit is coming to Sioux City that features a place that’s both divided and deeply connected — the U.S.-Mexico border.
Xavier Tavera’s Borderlands photography collection opens at the Sioux City Art Center on Thursday, October 30, from 5 to 7 p.m. As a part of its debut, Tavera will hold an artist conversation at 6 p.m.
Since 2016, Tavera has been photographing along the border and aims to show that it’s more than just a wall.
Art Center Curator Christopher Atkins said the exhibit offers a unique look at life on the border.
