Images of a stunning football stadium built atop a skyscraper in Saudi Arabia have generated intrigue for the 2034 World Cup.

Sitting 350 metres above the ground, the viral images show a bowl-shaped stadium incredibly suspended over the planned city of Neom in north west Saudi Arabia.

Reports say the one-of-a-kind arena would have opened in 2032 and host matches at the World Cup two years later.

Despite how impressive it looks, these plans are not actually real.
