KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The community is stepping up to help local nonprofits and families in need, as the ongoing federal government shutdown threatens food security across the region.
Hy-Vee donates $125k to help families in need
Hy-Vee announced Tuesday that it is donating a total of $125,000 to help feed local families.
Hy-Vee is donating $100,000 to its Feeding America partner food banks across its region, the company said. Hy-Vee said it's donation will go toward maintaining inventory levels at local food banks to assist families.
"Hy-Vee is committed to helping make sure no one goes hungry," said Jeremy Gosch, chairman and CEO of Hy-Vee. "By working with our food bank partners, we continue to support the health and wellbeing of those impacted in the communities we serve."
