Stray dog problem needs to be solved

One of the major challenges to be included in the list of public health problems in Kerala is the uncontrolled proliferation of stray dogs. The number of stray dogs surviving on food scraps thrown on the streets is increasing day by day. This leads to stray dogs attacking people walking alone at night and causing road accidents. The suggestion to immediately administer the rabies vaccine to such dogs has also failed to be implemented. The fact that more than eight lakh people have sought treatment in government hospitals in Kerala in the last six years due to stray dog bites reveals the serious nature of this problem.
