A juvenile was fatally shot Sunday in Pittsfield , where authorities discovered his body after he crashed a vehicle into a tree following the attack, officials said.
In a statement, Berkshire District Attorney Timothy J. Shugrue’s office said the shooting occurred around 6:14 p.m.
Initially, the statement said, police were called to the area of 17 Parker St. for a motor vehicle crash.
“Upon arrival, an officer observed a white Honda HR-V positioned across Franco Terrace near the intersection of Parker Street," the statement said. “Both the steering wheel and side curtain airbags had deployed, and debris was scattered around the vehicle.”
