TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - A Tucson Police Department patrol vehicle was struck by a bullet on the southeast side of Tucson after patrol officers responded to reports of gunfire.
According to TPD, patrol officers responded to reports of shots fired near Groves Park, 7400 E. Juniper Drive, on Oct. 25 around 1:45 a.m.
As officers searched the area, a patrol vehicle was struck with a single round while an officer sat inside.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The incident led to a large-scale search but the suspect wasn't located.
TPD's Shooting Investigations Unit is actively pursuing leads.
