MCHENRY COUNTY, Ill. — A man is dead after being electrocuted during a farm accident in rural McHenry County.

Just after 5:30 p.m. on Monday, McHenry County Sheriff's deputies were called to Boone McHenry County Line Road south of Jackson Road in rural McHenry County for a report of a tractor knocking down a power line.

An investigation showed that a 56-year-old Hebron man was driving a tractor pulling a grain cart. The farm equipment was in the ditch area next to the road and was trying to offload grain into a semi-truck parked on the road.

As it was coming down, the grain cart's grain chute hit the overhead power lines, causing them to fall down.
