NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Historic Germantown Neighborhood is set to plant a memorial tree in honor of a woman who was killed in a Nashville crosswalk.
The tree-planting to memorialize Dorothy “Dot” Dobbins is set for Saturday, November 8, at Morgan Park near the 3rd Avenue crosswalk to the greenway.
Dobbins was hit and killed by country music singer Conner Smith on June 8. She was 77. Smith, 24, was driving the car that crashed into Dobbins as she passed through a crosswalk in Nashville’s Germantown neighborhood.
Smith later released a statement on the incident:
“Not a day has gone by that I haven’t grieved, prayed, and mourned for Ms. Dobbins and her family. My heart is broken in a way I’ve never experienced, and I still struggle to fully process the weight of it all,” Smith wrot
