KENORA — An investigation is underway into an incident that resulted in the remains of a moose being left to rot near a highway northeast of Kenora.
The Ministry of Natural Resources said a moose carcass and butchered moose meat wrapped in butcher paper were found dumped adjacent to Highway 671 on or before Oct. 19.
Ontario hunting regulations prohibit the disposal of an animal in this way.
Anyone with information that may assist the investigation is asked to contact the MNR at 1-877-847-7667, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS.
