The aging Town-owned Centennial Pool in Port Elgin could have a new owner and use – following in camera discussions about disposing of the pool and land it sits on at the Oct. 27 council meeting, Saugeen Shores council directed staff to enter a purchase and sale agreement with the Bluewater District School Board.
No details of the pending agreement were released by the Town – the motion approved by council directs staff to sign documents with the school board for the purchase and sale of the facility, which will be redundant with the scheduled mid-December opening of the $49.9 million Pryde Aquatic and Wellness Centre at The Plex.
