MONTEGO BAY, JAMAICA (FOX Carolina) - Hurricane Melissa is set to pummel Jamaica on Tuesday as a catastrophic Category 5 storm, the strongest to lash the island since recordkeeping began 174 years ago, according to the Associated Press.

FOX Carolina’s Luis McCabe spoke with Cory Kanagy, an Upstate man who is currently working with a relief ministry in Montego Bay, Jamaica.

Jamaica Relief Ministries is a nonprofit that runs a children’s home, learning center, provides housing an support to keep families together and children out of state care and a branch of the ministry also builds houses.
