BEAUFORT COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - [UPDATE 3:13 p.m. 10/28/2025] A former Beaufort County deputy and his neighbor are now out of jail after getting arrested earlier Tuesday.
Former Beaufort County deputy Billy Squires was charged with four counts of pointing and presenting firearms at a person and breach of peace, aggravated in nature after an incident last month.
In September 2025, video showed off-duty deputy Billy Squires in his sheriff’s office gear walk up to three teens with his gun pointed at them while also yelling at them to get on the ground.
The video later shows Squires getting into a fight with them after going for a book bag.

The deputy was also fired after the incident for violating the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office’s code of conduct.
