AKRON, Ohio (WOIO) - Akron Police have released body camera footage of their officers responding to a shooting over the summer.
On July, 17th police were called to Sanford Avenue around 9:24 p.m.
When they got there videos shows them finding a woman in the drivers seat bleeding and asking for help.
The 39-year-old woman tells police in the video she was driving for Uber and picked up two males.
That’s when police say 18-year-old Jaiden Palmer grabbed her from behind, brandished a gun and shot the woman, hitting her arm and abdomen.
In the video officers ask the woman if she knew Palmer, and she said no.
Police told 19 News the woman did survive.
Almost a week after the shooting police arrested Palmer.
He was in court Tuesday for a hearing before his trial begins in February.
