STATESBORO, Ga. - The Statesboro Police Department named a Screven County man as a suspect in a deadly early Saturday morning shooting.
Police identified the suspect as 21-year-old Khalir Nickens, of Sylvania. Police said he should be considered “armed and dangerous.”
The Statesboro Police Department got arrest warrants for Nickens and says he is charged with felony murder, as well as several other associated felonies.
“The initial investigation was complicated by the fact that no witnesses remained on the scene to assist with identifying the victim or providing information. However, through the use of various technologies, forensic work, interviews, and search warrants, detectives were able to quickly identify a suspect,” wrote the Statesboro Police Department in a press release.
