The City of Cornwall confirmed Tuesday it wants to eliminate 26 staff positions due to significant financial pressures identified in preparing the 2026 budget.
Of these 26 confirmed positions, 12 are non-union and 14 are a members of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 3251. Local 3251 represents 205 of the city’s so-called inside workers, staff members in departments such as housing, social services, recreation, and leisure.
