CLE ELUM — Westbound I-90 will face limited closures as the Washington State Department of Transportation replaces an overpass damaged by an over-height truck near Cle Elum.

Westbound I-90 reopened Friday following the Oct. 21 incident at Bullfrog Road, according to WSDOT.

Contractor crews worked 22 hours under an emergency contract to remove the damaged portion.

The highway will remain open until WSDOT begins replacement work, requiring closures primarily at night, officials said.

"The loss of this overpass severely impacts the Cle Elum, Roslyn and the Suncadia area," Governor Bob Ferguson said in a statement. "We will work as quickly as possible to replace this vital connection for the community."
