Two competitive teams in the Eastern Conference meet up in the Queen City on Tuesday night, as Charlotte FC and New York City FC lock horns in Game 1 of their first-round series in the 2025 MLS Cup Playoffs.

This is the third season in a row that Charlotte has made it to the postseason. After finishing fifth last season, the young franchise registered 59 points, the most in the club’s first four years of existence. With a fourth-place finish in the East, Charlotte also clinched home-field advantage for the first time.
