The Patriots have made their first move ahead of the NFL trade deadline, and it involves a player leaving New England.

The Patriots are trading Keion White and a 2026 seventh-round pick to the San Francisco 49ers in return for a 2026 sixth-round pick, NFL Media's Tom Pelissero reported Tuesday.

White, the Patriots' second-round pick (46th overall) in the 2023 NFL Draft, was inactive for Sunday's win over the Cleveland Browns and has been on the field for just 26 percent of New England's defensive snaps this season.
