EUGENE — Jackson Shelstad ‘s timetable for returning to the court from a broken right hand is becoming clearer, with the first few games unlikely.
The Oregon point guard, who broke his hand earlier this month, has been wearing a soft splint in the weeks since.
“I’m doing any little exercise I can to strengthen my hand,” Shelstad said following Tuesday’s practice. “I feel like I didn’t lose any strength. I’m doing everything I can rehab-wise to get stronger, get healthy as soon as I can.”
Shelstad, who averaged 13.7 points and 2.7 assists in 35 starts last season, is rehabbing and awaiting clearance from UO’s medical and training staff to return to the court.
