FARGO — Officials at Fargo's Emergency Food Pantry say they've seen 17 new residents using its services this week and they are growing increasingly concerned about the most vulnerable as SNAP benefits are set to be paused Saturday, Nov. 1, particularly babies.
Right now, officials say it’s difficult to predict what the need for baby formula will be once SNAP benefits are frozen. They do know one challenge is having enough of each type of formula, as some babies’ digestive systems are better suited for certain brands or have specific dietary needs.
Money gives the pantry the flexibility to buy a variety of formulas as needed, but they are currently running short of Enfamil Sensitive and Similac Sensitive.
