LOS ANGELES (WCIA) - Former Eastern Illinois baseball player Will Klein will be remembered for years to come among baseball fans.
Klein, who pitched for the Panthers from 2018-2020, was a hero for the Dodgers in game three of the World Series.
The game went 18 innings, and Klein threw innings 15-18 for LA. He struck out five batters and did not allow a run. Freddie Freeman hit a walk-off home run to secure the win for the Dodgers in the bottom of the 18th.
Klein was drafted out of EIU, in 2020, by the Kansas City Royals in the fifth round.
"We weren't losing that game," Klein said in the postgame press conference. "And so if I had to keep going back out there, I was going to keep doing that and doing all I could to put up a zero. Then sit back down and go do it again."
