OCONEE COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) -- The Oconee County Sheriff's Office's SWAT team responded to a home near Westminster on Tuesday, after receiving a report of a barricaded suspect.

Deputies were called to the home near Coffee Road around 3:39 p.m., after officials received a call regarding a man made threats to harm himself and another woman.

According to investigators, officials were told the man had a weapon with him inside the home.

After multiple attempts to reach out to the man, deputies asked the SWAT team for assistance. By 7:10 p.m., deputies with the SWAT team began to try and resolve the situation.

SWAT deputies entered the home at 8:12 p.m. and took the man into custody 20 minutes later.

The investigation is ongoing at this time, deputies said.
