OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEHT) -- Concerns surrounding the Daviess County Animal Shelter have hit what officials are calling a boiling point.
In 2025, the Daviess County Fiscal Court voted to have It Takes a Village (ITV) assume responsibility of the county animal shelter. Since the takeover, some residents have been vocal on its methods, with one claiming a mass euthanasia was up for consideration to handle an overcrowding issue.
“For anyone to insinuate that there's been any plans or protocols or anything to do with mass euthanasia at another agency is completely false,” says Daviess County Sheriff Brad Youngman.
