BLUE MOUNDS, Wis. (WKOW) -- Ridglan Farms confirmed Tuesday evening that it had reached an agreement that will lead to operational changes for the facility, but will allow for its research work to continue.
Ridglan Farms reached the agreement with the La Crosse County District Attorney, who had been appointed as a special prosecutor to investigate allegations of animal cruelty at the biomedical research facility in Blue Mounds.
Under the deal, Ridglan Farms will no longer operate under its DATCP license which applies to its sale of dogs purposefully bred for biomedical research. This change will happen on, or before, July 1, 2026. In making that change, the facility will not face any penalties or fines.
