CARROLLTON, Texas — A Houston-based candy retailer whose warehouse operated out of Carrollton has filed for bankruptcy, filings show.

CandyWarehouse.com, Inc., a longtime online candy retailer known for its bulk sweets and party supplies, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in the Northern District of Texas, court records show.

The company, also operating under the names Yum Junkie and Candy Warehouse, reported roughly $223,957 in total assets against more than $3.24 million in liabilities, leaving it about $3 million in the red.

President Mimi Kwan-Nguyen signed the Oct. 24 filing, which seeks to reorganize the business under Chapter 11 rather than liquidate it. Houston attorney Robert C. Lane of The Lane Law Firm is representing the company.
