CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – With government SNAP funding in question across the country, a Lowcountry nonprofit is calling on the food service industry to help fight the hunger crisis across South Carolina.
Cuisine Rescue, Inc. is seeking partnerships with individuals and organizations from the food service industry to help supply food for delivery to those facing food insecurity.
Restaurants and caterers are encouraged to donate unplated surplus meals or ingredients that are safe to consume and establish a relationship with the organization to streamline the delivery process.
Grocery stores, retailers, and farmers are asked to collaborate by repurposing unsellable but edible food products for donation.
