COAHOMA COUNTY, Miss. - The Coahoma County School Board announced Tuesday that their superintendent will be taking a leave of absence, and named an interim replacement in her stead.

Dr. Debra Dace has been named as the Interim Superintendent of Coahoma County Schools as Dr. Virginia Young, the current Superintendent, will be taking a leave of absence.

"Dr. Dace brings a wealth of experience as a former superintendent and in educational leadership," the board said in a release. "Above all, the Board is committed to improving educational outcomes for the students of the Coahoma County School District, and the Board has full confidence in Dr. Dace's ability to guide the district during this transitional period."
