SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane Police Department announced Tuesday it was awarded a $186,250 grant by the U.S. Department of Justice's Community Oriented Policing Services for wellness and mental health services.
The grant is called the Law Enforcement Mental Health and Wellness Act (LEMHWA), and it's meant to fund services for law enforcement and their families with different programs such as:
Training
Suicide prevention
Clinical support
Stress reduction
Peer support
Family resources
Struggle Well classes
Training on nutrition
Sleep
Mindfulness
Financial wellness
