Bengaluru: In a collaborative achievement between Wipro, the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), and RV College of Engineering, an autonomous car termed WIRIN (Wipro-IISc Research and Innovation Network) was unveiled in Bengaluru.
A brief video of the driverless vehicle has gone viral on social media. The 28-second video was uploaded on X by user Adarsh Hegde (@adarshahgd), shows Sri Sri 1008 Satyatma Theertha Sripadangalu of Uttaradi Matha seated inside the vehicle as it travels around the RV College campus without a driver.
The self-driving vehicle uses technology developed entirely in India. Although still in the testing phase, the research team said the car’s full-scale launch is expected after further trials under varied Indian road conditions to ensure safety and reliability.
