American Legion Post 85 in Henryetta was broken into for the third time in two months, forcing a temporary closure as members cleaned up and plan new security measures.

They said vandals broke windows, damaged the ATM, and scattered supplies throughout the building. The post had to close for two days while members cleaned up the damage.

The American Legion serves as a gathering place where veterans can connect with one another and get local resources.

"We all came together as a family, which we are," said Patricia Chancey, Post 85 Commander. "There's Legionaries, there's Sons of American Legions, we have an auxiliary. All of us came together as a family and joined and we survived this.

They plan to add new security measures to prevent any future break-ins.
