DENVER (KDVR) — The words posted by the Hinsdale County Search and Rescue Team say it all: "Here we go again!"
On Oct. 23, a father and son from Florida who were trying to traverse Engineer Pass were rescued by search and rescue workers after their Jeep got stuck in over two feet of snow.
On Monday, search crews were once more called up to Engineer Pass for a motorist rescue. This time, it was a couple from Texas and their two dogs who were stranded west of the pass summit.
Engineer Pass is not an easy route to navigate, even in the best of weather. It's part of Colorado's Alpine Loop, a notorious road that's closed seasonally for the weather and designed for 4x4 high-clearance vehicles or UTVs.
