Nashville-based in-home health care and hospice provider Alive has selected Karen Hyden as chief nursing officer, according to a release.

Hyden has more than 17 years of clinical experience and over seven years of experience in executive leadership. She assumes the chief nursing officer role from Fran Doehring, who is retiring after an eight-year tenure.
Prior to joining Alive, Hyden held leadership roles at Evergreen Nephrology, Care Hospice, Amedisys and Compassus.
In addition to her leadership experience, Hyden is an educator and published author. She has served on the Hospice and Palliative Credentialing Center Board of Directors and currently serves on the Tennessee Palliative Care and Quality of Life Council.
