School following normal schedule

The Butler Area School District administration building is closed without power Wednesday morning, Oct. 29, after a garbage truck struck a utility pole.

Superintendent Brian White said all schools still have power and are operating on their normal schedules. He said the main district phone number is temporarily unavailable, so parents who need to contact their child’s school should contact the building directly.

The garbage truck struck a utility pole in the student parking lot near the administrative building. Crews are on-site working to restore power, which is estimated to return in the afternoon.
