FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Two women were killed, and a man has major injuries after a crash in Fresno County Tuesday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP says around 11 p.m., a 2020 White Toyota Camry was going East on Belmont Avenue at a high rate of speed when witnesses say the driver ran a stop sign on Brawley Avenue.

Investigators say the Camry sideswiped a pole, went through the front yard of a home, hit the fence of a trucking yard, and came to a stop in the yard.

The driver of the Camry and the right rear passenger died at the scene. A man who was in the front passenger seat had major injuries and was transported to Community Regional Medical Center, according to CHP.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
