MSNBC announced two new hires on Wednesday, as builds up its own newsroom as it splits from parent Comcast.

Kate Farrell , senior producer for CBS Mornings in Washington, D.C., is joining as deputy Washington bureau chief. She also worked for 10 years at BBC World News America, including as executive producer and senior producer. Farrell previously worked as producer on CNN shows such as The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer and Crossfire . She has won four Peabodys and five Emmys.

Cindy Galli has joined the network as legal affairs director, after 14 years at ABC News. She was executive producer of ABC News’ investigative unit. During her tenure, her team received the duPont-Columbia Silver Baton for its investigation into plastic bag recycling.
