A 31-year-old woman from Cornwall is facing a charge following a police investigation into a complaint from a Ninth Street West business.

Police alleged the woman removed merchandise from the store on July 5 without paying for it. She was taken into custody at police headquarters on Tuesday.

The woman was charged with theft under $5,000 — shoplifting.

She was released from police custody to appear in Cornwall court on Dec. 2.
