As the federal government shutdown pushes the nation toward a suspension of SNAP (EBT) benefits starting Nov. 1, Oasis Fresh Market in North Tulsa is launching a new campaign to make sure no one in its community goes hungry.
The grocery store’s owner, AJ Johnson, said Oasis is doubling down on its mission to feed families and protect jobs — even as federal support falters.
“We refuse to let our community go hungry,” Johnson said. “When government systems fail, communities have to rise together. This store was built for moments like this — to be a refuge, a source of hope, and a reminder that people still care.”
